Doing Modernity: Mission & Index
Mission
Doing Modernity is a living textbook and public sociology project dedicated to Critical Interactionism — the fusion of Symbolic Interactionism, Ethnomethodology & Conversation Analysis, Goffman-inspired research, Institutional Ethnography, and Phenomenological Sociology.
This blog curates essays, classic studies, and autoethnographic reflections to illuminate how social order is achieved moment by moment, how inequality is reproduced in everyday life, and how lived experience can ground theory. The aim is both pedagogical (a resource for students and scholars) and political (a contribution to liberationist social thought).
